Christiane Holzheid is a media designer with a passion for storytelling, social media, and research practices using new technologies and design speculation. In the last 6 years, she has learned how to be fearless in design. Christiane is a raconteuse whose use of provocation and play alters experiences for the audience through perception and interaction, which tickles the everyday things that have become invisible through overexposure. Her design research practices focus on creating new and unique answers from hands-on investigations, cultural probes and in-depth studies with an emphasis on people and technology. > > >
Always collaborative, always clear and dynamic, Christiane believes “hybrid-thinking” is the key to good design. She earned her MFA in Media Design from Art Center College of Design, received her BFA in Illustration from Maryland Institute College of Art and Design and studied Graphic Design at the Akademie U5 in Munich. Fluent in English and German, she grew up in South Africa and Germany then equipped herself with design and illustration experience in Baltimore, San Francisco, Stuttgart, Los Angeles, and is currently living in Berlin..
